When doing the Elemental Gyms, you need to use the type of that elemental (Grass Gym means you need a Grass type pokemon to beat).
The Warriors of Kalos Elementals are:
Psychic - Fire - Normal - Water - Flying - Dragon - Poison - Grass
Required lvl around 2000 - 3000 (Higher always possible when difficulties)
No Idea what pokemon to use or to train? Arceus is a good option to evolve in all types
